Shilpa Gupta uses sculpture, installations and video to deal with subjects ranging from the condition of women to the tensions between India and Pakistan. She has taken part in numerous biennials and collective exhibitions, at venues including the Serpentine Gallery, the Centre Pompidou and the Tate Modern and has held several solo exhibitions.
